The village atmosphere and facilities offer a feeling of security and support for older people.  A warden is on site 24 hours a day 365 days a year providing daily contact, help in an emergency and a friendly smile.  The warden call system provides comfort and assurance for residents knowing that they can use it with confidence at time of need and make contact with the warden on duty.

Local businesses offer milk and paper deliveries.  Hairdressers, chiropodist and opticians visit regularly.  All residents, their relatives, friends and visitors have access to the Adams Hall restaurant where week day lunches are served and other functions held.

A wide range of activities, services and outings are on offer, many organised and run by residents and volunteers.  These include short mat bowls, croquet, concerts, games, crafts, bazaars, dancing, keep fit, minibus service to local post office and supermarket, seaside outings and trips to museums and places of interest.  A monthly newsletter is published by the Friends of Glebe Housing Committee to keep everyone informed of what’s going on and up and coming events.

The grounds offer peace, quiet and tranquility where residents can enjoy sitting, reading, gardening, tending small allotments and other pastimes.  Many of our lovely, fragrant flower beds are maintained by devoted residents and volunteers adding to that feeling that Bencurtis Park is special.
