We are recruiting Sheltered Housing Wardens.

Full time or Part time roles working day 9am to 5pm or night 5pm to 9am with a completive rate between £9.50 and £10 per hour

Glebe Housing Association was formed in 1974 as a not for profit organisation providing sheltered accommodation and independent support for older people.   We have 203 sheltered housing units, a mix of rental and leasehold properties. All of our accommodation is based on one site in our retirement village in West Wickham. Our aim is to provide safe, comfortable and secure accommodation enabling people to live independently but within a supportive community

As our Sheltered Housing Warden You will ensure that, the Bencurtis Park residential community is a safe, welcoming, inclusive and positive environment in which older people can maintain their homes for as long as they wish and are able to.

You will assist our resident’s, and live as independently as possible in their own home, by providing daily welfare calls either via telephone or face to face visit

Promote autonomy and choice, facilitate independent living by working with residents, empowering them to age in place, and remain active and engaged in the Bencurtis Park Sheltered Housing and the wider community.

To ensure that issues which may impact the health and wellbeing of residents are identified and addressed through the involvement of the resident, their family and health and social care professionals. Supporting residents by remaining calm in an emergency, whilst a call is placed with their doctor or emergency services and making family member aware, ensuring the residents data is updated with all daily information.

Our volunteers provide a range of services including driving our resident mini bus service to West Wickham shops (Tuesday to Friday), maintaining flower beds, assisting with the running of our community shop, providing entertainment, assisting at coffee mornings, helping with social events and assisting with fundraising.

We currently need volunteer mini bus drivers to collect our residents and take them to and from West Wickham high street on a Tuesday, Thursday and Friday morning. If you have the time to drive on one of these days please contact our HR department on 02028 777 1122. You will need to have a clean driving licence, supply character references and be willing to undergo a DBS check.

Any amount of time, no matter how small can help out enormously and have a great benefit to our residents.
